Patchwork
Carpenter Hall
Celebrating Early American music in a choral setting, featuring Irving harpists, Laura Logan and Becky Scherschell, as well as David Moran on the hammered dulcimer. The main gallery at the Irving Arts Center will be featuring an exhibit of American quilts from the Texas Quilt Artists and quilts which are traveling America as another round of "Quilt Mania." Also, the Irving Quilt Guild has given a handmade quilt made by one of their members for us to have a "chance drawing." Irving Community Television Network's Cathy Whiteman will narrate the concert.

A Celtic Christmas
Carpenter Hall
Complementing the Irving Arts Center's "Celtic Christmas" theme, the spirit of Ireland will be celebrated following the Chorale's Summer 2008 singing tour in the Emerald Isle. Emmy Award-winning Celtic singer, lyricist, and composer Connie Dover, from Kansas City, will be the Chorale's featured guest. Also, joining the Chorale for this concert will be Metroplex resident Jason Hays, Irish dancer, following his being awarded 5th place in WORLD competition last Spring in Belfast, Ireland, at the age of 16! The Irving Art Association will exhibit the Celtic artwork of their members in the lobby and will donate a Celtic Angel piece for a "chance drawing."
The Celtic artwork by Irving Art Association members which will be displayed as part of "A Celtic Christmas" concert may be purchased that evening.

In honor of National Music in Our Schools month, the Chorale will again collaborate with the Irving ISD Children's Honor Choir for an evening of Music of the Masters, music in the classic choral style.

A Tribute to Jerry Herman
Celebrating "Hello, Dolly," "Mame"...Etc.
Carpenter Hall
The Chorale will honor this award-winning composer and lyricist by performing classic Broadway favorites from "Hello, Dolly," "Mame," "Mack and Mabel" and "La Cage Aux Folles." Mr. Herman is well known for his energetic, yet beautiful music. We will enjoy his memorable music and lyrics as we celebrate his work. | |
