About the Chorale
The Irving Chorale enters its 21st season anticipating the joys and rewards of performing the greatest music of the choral repertoire. We are dedicated to promoting the highest standards of choral performance. By presenting a full season of subscription concerts
and supporting choral music in the local schools, churches and civic organizations, the Chorale is serving the community and helping to establish the City of Irving as a vital center of a wide variety of cultural experiences. The Chorales broad-spectrum repertoire of choral masterworks includes Handel's Messiah; Faure's Requiem; Vaughan-Williams' Hodie, Dona Nobis Pacem and A Sea Symphony; Hanson's Song of Democracy, and Haydn's Te Deum. In addition, the Chorale performs a variety of traditional and contemporary choral music, ranging from anthems and festival compositions to Broadway classics, spirituals, and folk music.
The Chorale is a community chorus of more than 80 voices from Irving and the surrounding Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Members come from all professions and backgrounds. Membership is by open audition, which is held twice each year. Rehearsals are held each Thursday from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. throughout the regular season, not only to prepare for upcoming performances, but also to afford each singer the opportunity to grow musically.
